RESUME

Konrad Aderer is a documentary filmmaker and video journalist based in New York City. Konrad’s independent documentaries have focused on resistance arising in immigrant communities targeted by “national security” detention and profiling. His documentary Resistance at Tule Lake was broadcast nationally on PBS WORLD Channel from 2018-2020. His 2011 feature documentary Enemy Alien, on the fight to free a post-9/11 detainee, was honored with a Courage in Media Award from Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR). Konrad has received grants from the Center for Asian American Media, New York State Council of the Arts, National Park Service, and other funders.

Produced and shot location footage and interviews. Wrote script and edited documentary at different lengths for festival and broadcast. Oversaw creation of deliverables for PBS national broadcast on WORLD channel in May 2018. Wrote proposals and budgets to secure grants from Center for Asian American Media, National Parks Service and New York State Council on the Arts. Wrote press releases and email campaigns. Created social media campaigns for engaging people in issues related to the film and the preservation of the site. Overseeing production of educational materials: supervising curriculum writers, editing and copy editing text, directing graphic design.
